The truth is, keeping that lush, curly coat free of tangles and mats requires regular grooming.

There are many different Poodle breeds

The breed Poodle first became an official American Kennel Club registered breed back in 1887. As of today, Poodle is bred in three sizes: toy, miniature and standard, and is currently ranked as the 7th most popular dog nationwide.

But poodle isn’t only popular as a pure bred pedigree. They are popular dogs to breed with other dogs creating mixes like, cavoodle, smoodle, groodle etc. That’s why also their grooming styles can look very different.

Poodle hair

Poodles are smart, active, agile, easy to train, eager to learn, outgoing and people-pleasers. So, very nice family dogs!

They are also as close to being a non-shedding, hypoallergenic dog as any dog gets. And that’s why they are used for breeding both pure bred pedigrees as well as mixed breed “designer”dogs.

Poodles have high-maintenance coat. Poodle’s naturally curly fur requires near-constant brushing, clipping and trimming to maintain a good healthy look. Neglect your Poodle’s coat, and you could wind up at the vet paying top dollar to treat painful skin infections or at least paying extra for de-matting your dog at the groomers.
